Blessing Blockers: The Big Three

So, you fancy yourself as a giver do you? Hmmm...yet you're not seeing all these bountiful blessing you read about in God's Word happening in your life. What could possibly be the problem, God's Word is true...right?
Well Bucko let's take a look at the 3 of the potential problems, and they are major! They are called, sowing , reluctantly, sorrowfully, and under compulsion. Wow, the Big Three aren't just in Boston or Miami, huh?
Let's look at 1 Cor 9:6,7 again:
6[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [[a]that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.

7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

Ok, here's a thought if the Big 3 are present in your giving it causes you to sow sparingly and grudgingly and because of that you will also reap sparingly and grudgingly...hmmm.

Awww shucks now, ya gotta check ya "tude" in ya giving!
You're at the store, you hear God ask you to go give that person over there 20.00...what do you do?
Do we promptly and joyfully do it, or do we reason with ourselves and God? It sounds like this: Huh, now ? But I'm on my way to work I just stopped to get a donut and I only have 30.00 and I'm gonna need lunch and I really don't know that person, and...you get the picture. Ok, go ahead and laugh we've all done it!

Look you have to make up your mind and purpose in your heart that you are going to give according to the Word all the time and every time! That means being a cheerful, joyous, Prompt To Do It, giver, who's heart is in his giving.
When your giving is done according to the Word look what happens to you in verse 8:

8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

I'm gonna leave you with that Good News and cover this in more detail in later lessons. Getting this in you is so vital to your quality of life and the lives of others.

Until next time...
