Something To Think About.

Psalm 27:13 (New King James Version)

13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.

What is a Giving Fund? Part 1

Here is what I've noticed, assuming makes you look really stupid sometimes, so because of that I'm not going to do it. Now you would assume, if we were going to do that sort of thing, that people that proclaim to be givers" would know the true purpose of giving, and the value of a giving fund.
This is not the case, not only that but some have never even heard of a giving fund!
Becasue of this we are going to cover briefly in this post what it is and it's value in your life when used properly

What is a giving fund?

This is a place that you keep money that you have desingnated for (sowing) giving. It doesn't have to be fancy but it does have to have a certain level of organization, don't let that word scare you, lol, for some people the word organization is as bad as getting a shot at the Dr's office. I promise we'll keep it simple.
You can use a jar, can, shoe box, drawer, of open a bank account, whatever you're most comfortable with. Now you're going to keep two things in or around your "giving fund", one is the money and the other are the receipts from your giving.
The reason for keeping receipts is because depending on who, where, or what you give to there may be some tax advantages for you, see your tax advisor for specifics, but more importantly you have a record of and can "see" your giving so you can pray over it.

You need to pray over your seed!

You praying over your see is just like the farmer watering his crops, you need to water your seed regularly, through prayer, which allows you to receive the greatest possible return on your harvest. You did remember we get a harvest out of this didn't you?
Plus, additional benefit here, it allows you to pray for the reciprent of your seed, and since prayer is a form of sowing when doing it for others. As you pray over your previously planted seed your sowing more...this just gets gudder and gudder, yes "gudder" is a word, at least now it is.
Now you may still be asking, John why is this so important, why do all of this?

Well I'm so glad you asked!

Our purpose on this planet is to 1. Love God with all our heart and 2. Love our neighbor as ourselves. God so loved the world that He gave...giving is a outward showing of love, you're showing God that you love Him enough to follow His example. You are also showing God's Love to others by living this kind of life style...a living, walking testimony!
I'll tell you something it has done for me and everyone who has done this , it gives you purpose and fullment in your life.
If you've ever wondered what your purpose for being here is, doing this helps bring answers and clarity to that question.

More to come in Part 2.

Something To Think About.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for God, and your fellow man, is to shut your mouth and open up your heart.

Giving Scriptures (New King James Version)

Galatians 6:7
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Genesis 26:12-14

12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. 13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; 14 for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.

Luke 6:38

38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

A Givers Toughest Job!

Awww shucks! I'm about to slap some givers all up side the head, here we go anyway.

What is the toughest thing for a giver to do?

Answer: Receive!

OMG! It's sometimes like pulling teeth for a giver to receive, someone walks up to you Givemaster and tries to bless you with something, you what's your first response..."Oh no brother I'm good you keep it, give it to someone else who may need it" in my best religious voice.

Hey buckethead that giver standing in front of you needs you to take that gift so they can be blessed, you know kinda like you do...Hello Mcfly! Who better to give too than a giver, thats sowing into real good ground, sowing into you could actually magnify their blessing...and yours.

So don't be a blessing blocker, oh great Givemaster, be able to receive as well as give and continue the blessing cycle. Preaching to self here, LOL

Something To Think About.

God is much more interested in your giving than your savings. You do your part and take care of the giving and He will do His part and take care of the savings!

Blessing Blockers: The Big Three

So, you fancy yourself as a giver do you? Hmmm...yet you're not seeing all these bountiful blessing you read about in God's Word happening in your life. What could possibly be the problem, God's Word is true...right?
Well Bucko let's take a look at the 3 of the potential problems, and they are major! They are called, sowing , reluctantly, sorrowfully, and under compulsion. Wow, the Big Three aren't just in Boston or Miami, huh?
Let's look at 1 Cor 9:6,7 again:
6[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [[a]that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.

7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

Ok, here's a thought if the Big 3 are present in your giving it causes you to sow sparingly and grudgingly and because of that you will also reap sparingly and grudgingly...hmmm.

Awww shucks now, ya gotta check ya "tude" in ya giving!
You're at the store, you hear God ask you to go give that person over there 20.00...what do you do?
Do we promptly and joyfully do it, or do we reason with ourselves and God? It sounds like this: Huh, now ? But I'm on my way to work I just stopped to get a donut and I only have 30.00 and I'm gonna need lunch and I really don't know that person, and...you get the picture. Ok, go ahead and laugh we've all done it!

Look you have to make up your mind and purpose in your heart that you are going to give according to the Word all the time and every time! That means being a cheerful, joyous, Prompt To Do It, giver, who's heart is in his giving.
When your giving is done according to the Word look what happens to you in verse 8:

8 And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

I'm gonna leave you with that Good News and cover this in more detail in later lessons. Getting this in you is so vital to your quality of life and the lives of others.

Until next time...

Never judge a book by it's cover!

We as people tend to judge people by the way they look, the clothes they wear, etc. Let me help you out with this one...Some of the most broke people in the world never look like it! They have to look or dress a certain way for work, or they've been foolish enough to buy in to the fashion game via peer pressure or better yet T.V. pressure...OMG, don't get me started on T.V.

They go home to a empty refrigerator, cabinets and bank account and they need help! Awww here it comes, whoa JT, why should I help them? These people just make bad choices, they just need to use their money more efficiently, and stop trying to keep up with the Joneses! Here's a wake up call, Bucko, the Joneses might not be doing as well as you think either! Let me help you out, God's Love needs to be shared (sown) when you help people especially the ones who need help and can't get it, you open the door for a wonderful introduction. This ain't religious...this is real life!

My favorite 3 words now are, "I got it"!
Example: start small, do something to make a little extra money (more to come on this) then start a giving fund, i.e, put the money in a envelope in a drawer, or open a bank account for it, keep it simple. Now when opportunity comes, and it will come, you say "I got it"! Buy someone a cup of coffee, pay for a meal at a restaurant for a total stranger, pay for someones gas, take someone to the store and buy their groceries, the opportunities are endless.

Ok here's the most important part, don't preach God's Word, live God's Word!
The introduction I mentioned earlier doesn't have to be verbal, everyone knows God's work when they see it, just do it, smile, and walk away, this is so powerful! God's Word is for us to act upon so that those who don't know or who are rejecting God's call will see His work "in action" and be able to act upon it themselves.

More to come...

Struggling with Purpose?

Over the years I have had trouble with finding my purpose, and it has had adverse effects on my life. The Bible says that where there is no vision (purpose is included here)the people perish (die a slow painful death).Things are destroyed where there is no clarity of purpose.

A lack of purpose also causes inconsistency in peoples lives, they are always looking for something , never satisfied, constantly jumping from one thing to another in search of fulfillment. Your focus is the problem. I.I.I, me,me,me, you're focusing on something you can't solve, believe it or not, you can't fix yourself, shocking huh. If this is you, I have good news!

Change your focus and fix your problems by default! Here's what's cool, other people may have problems that you can help with, or maybe even fix by doing this you are giving (sowing) into to the problem of someone else and positioning yourself to receive help and solutions to your own problems...

You are soooo important to God!

God said in His word if you are a giver He is unwilling to do without and will never abandon you. You have His heart and are a key to conducting kingdom business, you're in the family business. God is a giver and He needs you to show His heart to those who He's talking to but are not listening.

Welcome

Our first post is going to be the scripture this blog is based on, these words are the keys to all our work and purpose:

2 Corinthians 9:6-15 (Amplified Bible)

6[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [[a]that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.

7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

8And God is able to make all grace (every favor and [c]earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

9As it is written, He [the benevolent person] scatters abroad; He gives to the poor; His deeds of justice and goodness and kindness and benevolence will go on and endure forever!

10And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity].

11Thus you will be enriched in all things and in every way, so that you can be generous, and [your generosity as it is] administered by us will bring forth thanksgiving to God.

12For the service that the ministering of this fund renders does not only fully supply what is lacking to the saints (God's people), but it also overflows in many [cries of] thanksgiving to God.

13Because at [your] standing of the test of this ministry, they will glorify God for your loyalty and obedience to the Gospel of Christ which you confess, as well as for your generous-hearted liberality to them and to all [the other needy ones].

14And they yearn for you while they pray for you, because of the surpassing measure of God's grace (His favor and mercy and spiritual blessing which is shown forth) in you.

15Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]!
